COLD COMFORT

Simon 'Chozzy' Church' - returning to Brigg from his home in Australia for a New Year reunion - has now made an unusual request: He wants all those who attend to don Aussie shirts.
Strewth! Perhaps the boys has spent too long in the sun in Perth, West Australia, and does not realise what the temperature might be like for those of us walking to his get-together.
Simon's event will be in the Yarborough Arms, Bridge Street, on Saturday, January 31 (from 7pm).
He wants to see old friends from Brigg Grammar School, Sir John Nelthorpe, Brigg Town Cricket Club, Barnetby Football Club, plus family, friends - and teachers!
Please not Simon Church's email is: simon@wasponline.com.au

The reason for the Aussie shirts Nige, is that Australia Day is celebrated on the 25th January and as this will be the first weekend following the actual day it would be a shame not to dress up and make the most of it.

You never know it might even be warm enough for a Barbie....!

It is also ashes year in 2009 and those of us that made the reverse trip to Oz to witness a 5-0 driubbing of the England team will be a bit wary of displaying the green and gold.
However I'm sure Cozzie will agree England are favourites to win back the Ashes .

Well bowled Harold !!

Don't get me wrong.
I will only be cheering for the Poms, come the first Ashes Test.

You only have to live Down Under for a short time to work out who the real whingers are...!(The bleeding Aussies)

So how come if you were in Perth for the last series, you didn't call in for a coldie?

Cheers Choz
